America vs England

Here's some words they use in England that are different from here. Some are funny! Cody hears these everyday. :)

Ace - if something is ace it is brilliant.

All right? - "Hello, how are you?

Anti-clockwise - counter-clockwise

Any road - instead of saying anyway, they said "any road"! Weird huh?

Arse over elbow - This is another way of saying head over heels

Barmy - If someone tells you that you're barmy they mean you have gone mad or crazy.

Beastly - You would call something or someone beastly if they were really nasty or unpleasant

Bender - this means a gay man or a heavy drinking session

Blinding - fantastic

Blow off - Who blew off? Means who farted

Chat up - To chat someone up is to try and pick them up.

Cheesed off - This is a polite way of saying you are pissed off

Cracking - if something is cracking, it means it is the best. If a girl is cracking it means she is stunning

Fanny around - It means to procrastinate

Fruity - if someone is feeling fruity then they are feeling frisky. Watch out!

Full of beans - This means to have loads of energy. It's a polite way of saying that a child is a maniac.

Getting off - getting off with someone means making out or snogging them. lol

Give us a bell - This simply means call me.

Honking - Honking is being sick or throwing up

Kip - the same thing as a nap

Naff - if something is naff, it is uncool

Nancy boy - if someone is being pathetic you would call them nancy or nancy boy. The opposite is called a hard guy. It's also another word for a gay man.

Off your trolley - it means you have gone raving bonkers, crazy, mad!

Posh - roughly translates as high class

Smashing - it means terrific

Two finger salute - when you see a brit stick up two fingers at you in a V shape.. it means the same thing as giving someone the bird here. If you go to England make sure you don't do that!

Waffle - to waffle means to talk on and on about nothing. it's not something you eat.

I LOVE my missionary!

My older brother Cody is on a mission in the Birmingham England area. We are 19 months apart in age, and i consider him one of my best friends!

aren't we cute?! anyways he has always been there for me and i love him very much!

He's doing very well on his mission they have baptised 3 maybe 4 since he's been out (sept 25, 2009) He rides a bike EVERYWHERE and has gained 14 lbs. (which equals one "stone" in England) all muscle with a little bit of fish and chips! lol

Cody has such a strong testimony and always has done all of the right things... i've always been jealous of how perfect he is! lol

some memories i have of us together...

1) Spending the night at our cousin's house in Georgia and Cody and Wayne trying to pull pranks on Sunny, Suzanne, and me! (we totally got them back in the morning! ;)

2) Going squirrel hunting with Dad and Cody

3) Sitting on his bed singing hymns in harmony real late at night.

4) Going deep sea fishing (we caught sharks!)

5) Laughing so hard we couldn't breathe! (like for real!)

6) Being in band together

7) Me dating his best friends haha

8) Going to Disney World with band together!

9) doing fundraisers like crazy so we could go to Disney World

10) resenting him because of how perfect he is

11) loving him because of how perfect he is

12) riding with him in his old car he calls "a TANK" to school everyday

13) getting into the wreck on our way to school. (the bumper is still held on by zipties lol)

14) when he freakin blew that blow horn at my graduation!

15) our long talks on the way home from insitutute (college class on wednesdays at church)

16) going to walmart the night before he left for his mission for plugin adapters and duct tape for his luggage

17) listening to him play the blues and "come come ye saints" in the harmonica

18) hiking the Y!!!! and him making sure i made it ok and that i had enough water. (it was so hard) he pulled me part of the way lol

19) crying as he walked through security at the airport

20) talking to him at christmas!!

Christmas break that is...

-I totally had a ton of this post already typed out, then my laptop freaked out and erased everything i wrote... that's so frustrating!!

My last final was Dec. 11th, and I finished my first semester in college with 1 A and 3 B's. I'm pretty proud of myself, I worked hard for it. College is a big transition from high school where I hardly studied at all!

I started off christmas break job shadowing for Laurie Deroque, an Occupational Therapist for a public school. That was so much fun! (I have to have 20 hours volunteering for an OT before i can apply for OTassistant school next fall.) All the kids were so sweet and very special in all their different ways! From ages 3-18. I can't wait to get into that field. Shadowing really made me excited about it. I'll try to take some pictures next time I go.

Also during these couple of weeks I've got to hang out with my girls a lot! Like at least one of them everyday, it was great! Autumn, Emma, and Katie moved for the semester so I missed them. (I have a feeling that every post is going to mention my besties at some point lol) We've had a ton of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners together! I know I've gained some from eating out so much lol. I will be visiting them more this next semester, cuz i gotta have my besties!

I worked a lot... at sonic.. i know, not the most glamourous job out there, but it's a job.. (btw plz tip your carhops if you don't already! IT'S THE LAW! haha just kidding... but seriously we don't get minimum wage fyi lol) oh and here is a list of a few of my pet peeves at sonic...

1) ask for condiments when we take your order!

*we don't magically know what you prefer with your popcorn chicken!

2) throw away your own trash unless you tip me at least a dollar!

*that's just gross

3) don't make us go back and forth from inside to your car!

*it's cold! 27 degrees today!

4) have your money ready to go when we get there!

*don't say "bless your heart, it's so cold out here" while you make us stand there while you count $5.00 in all nickles!

5) don't get mad at your carhop when your burger is messed up

*we don't cook! don't shoot the messenger!

6) listen when we read back your order!

*it's not our fault if your just an idiot

7) for all you "crazy tea ladies" just drink the dadgum tea or go home and make your own!

*seriously why do you come back when it was "horrible" the last time??

Well there's my top 7 pet peves... there's so many more! I'll make another post devoted to my love/hate relationship with sonic lol.

Finally I was a little missionary! lol Cody would be proud... my friend Jacob became interested in church. He came with me to a youth activity, church one sunday, and 1 other meeting with the missionaries so far! and he says he has never felt better about anything in a long time! keep him in your prayers! I can't wait to tell Cody all about it when I email him again...

*This awesome break is almost over, it's back to school on monday... studying all the time and working when I'm not.. sometimes both at the same time.

So I woke up around lunch time and went to Autumn's to have breakfast (french toast) with Katie and Autumn. Then later Autumn, Emma, Katie and I went to TGIFridays for dinner. Morgan couldn't come because she was working.

It was a great day, I needed to be with my girls today!

A hug is a great gift - one size fits all, and it's easy to exchange.
