You know you're not in the South anymore when...

... when you see the Prophet on Walmart's shelves.

It's gonna take a while to get used seeing this kindof thing.

and it's normal.

But the Prophet should be in Walmart!

Oh how I love thee...

I want to share my love for 2 things in this post.

First JEGGINGS!
wikipedia is gonna define it for us.

Jeggings are leggings which are styled to look like tight denim jeans.[1]
Jeggings were brought on by the resurgence in style of skinny jeans in the mid- to late-2000s, when a higher demand for even tighter style of pant came about.[2] Since jeggings are typically made of a denim/spandex blend, they are often worn on their own as opposed to under a skirt or dress. Some jeggings have zip-flies and pockets, while others just have an elastic waistband and no pockets.
With respect to material, jeggings fall into two main categories:
Jeggings that are legging material made to look like denim with fake pockets and belt loops; and
Jeggings that are a true cross between denim and legging material. "Denim jeggings" are essentially a denim fabric with the elasticity of a legging.
The latter are more similar to skinny jeans than the former. Some designers call "denim jeggings" pull-on jeans rather than jeggings.

My roommate Courtney last semester introduced me to the Jegg. She bought them and wore them for a week straight, even slept in them. So over Thanksgiving break I decided that I just had to experience this amazingness for myself. I bought a pair and NEVER wanna take them off!
They aren't the gross super thin super tight leggings that resemble jeans... they are jeans that are soooo comfy that I wear days in a row.
They are great with heels, flats, flipflops and (in Idaho) boots!
I'm in love with my Jeggings!
The second thing I love right now is my poor roommate Hailey. She fell down some stairs and sprained her ankle pretty bad and has been on crutches since tuesday. Classes started Wednesday and poor criple Hailey had to hobble all over campus :(
Last night we took a trip to Walmart and since she is a cripple she took the scooter! haha

Let me tell ya she looked GOOOOOD on the scooter! and she was just a wizzin past all the other Walmart shoppers like a pro.

I was eatin' her dust, until it started beeping then promptly died.
Back to hobbling
p.s. If anybody who reads this and also reads Al's blog I just wanna say that we are best friends and share a brain :)

It's hard to be Mommy.

I know this is a way attractive picture haha but my week of being a mommy began with me leaving dear old Arkansas (and i'll have to blog about that week sometime.. later) Please notice with me the grass outside not containing snow. Sigh. I drove to the Little rock airport and eventually made it to Mormonville after spending 8 hours on a plane or in an airport on Christmas day. Sigh.

But then I got to babysit these wonderful kids for a whole week while their parents were in Cancun! Tyler, Sam, and Jess. Their my cousins and seriously the best kids in the world! We got to do all kinds of things like go to movies, shop at the mall..

Make awesome soap beards and turn the water blue at bath time..

play in the snow A LOT. I didn't do much playing because I was sick with allergies most of the week. .

and we got to spend New Years at their Grandma's house with the whole family. It was a great week :)

Now I'm back in cold Rexburg watching the snow come down out my window, in mine and Hailey's newly decorated and homified (new word) room. And I already got my first class of the new semester down!

Distance.

"Distance is not for the fearful, it's for the bold. For those willing to spend a lot of time alone, in exchange for a little time with the one they love. It's for those who know a good thing when they see it, even if they don't see it nearly enough."

I've been thinking about about the idea of missing someone lately. I don't think I ever understood what it meant to miss someone until recently.

To be physically separated from the one you love for 730 days sucks. Being 219 days in, I have gotten used to the fact that when I am having a hard day, he can't hold me. And when I am stressed, he can't calm me down. And when I have something exciting to say, I can't call him. But getting used to something doesn't make you forget how it used to be. And that's when the "missing" comes in.

I miss everything about Joey. And I mean everything. But I am glad I miss him. Without the missing, I wouldn't be able to do the waiting or check the mailbox everyday even though I know there is nothing there.

The missing keeps him alive. It is the reassurance that I didn't dream up this guy. He is real. And he will come home.

A lot of people don't make it through the mission. I have heard the success rate is something like 3%. And I understand why. This whole thing is hard. No, better word, it sucks.

But it's worth it.

I might understand missing someone way better than I wish I did, but because of that, I also understand loving someone way more than I ever thought I could. The way we are still connected and growing stronger amazes me. And how from 4,852 miles away, he still makes me feel loved. And sometimes, I will be going through something and he has no idea, but I will get a letter saying exactly what I need to hear.

Nothing good in life ever comes easy. I'm glad Joey had the faith and courage to go on a mission. I am glad I have this time to become exactly what I need to be. I am glad for these 4,852 miles and 730 days. They are just numbers. And they don't matter.

Distance means so little when someone means so much. I am glad I have someone worth missing.

It's that time again.

So today is January 1st 2011! All of the sudden i feel sooo old.
A lot of awesome things are gonna happen in 2011:
-My baby sister is turning 12 and is going to be in Young Women's!
-Dallin is gonna be able to officially date! (Scary)

They're both taller than me now!

-I'll be finishing my sophomore year of college!
-I'm gonna be turning 20! (no longer a teenager baby!)
-Joey's 1 year of being out on his mission in May (half way done! that blows my mind!)

From my HS graduation. I don't know why I picked such an old picture

-Cody, my big brother and best friend, comes home from his mission!!!!!!!!!!! in September

Skyping with Cody on Christmas!

-I start my JUNIOR year of college! (crazy!)
I'm sure a lot more will happen than just that and I can not wait until it does! This is gonna be a great year I can feel it!
It is that time again when everybody makes their lame New Year's Resolutions and then after 3 weeks (maybe) of being strong and holding true to whatever they choose to make themselves better they always go back to their old ways....
Well this year I am going to be as lame as the rest of them and make some resolutions for myself.
-I will FINISH the Book of Mormon in 2011! It's taken me 20 years to do it but I will do it dadgumit! Even though I am in a New Testament class this semester (which I'm soo excited for!) and will be busy reading out of the New Testament too.
- and of course I have the same resolution that everyone else has to "lose weight." I'm not really concerned with the numbers and actually losing weight I just want to get a good workout schedule going and eat healthier (not Ramon or frozen pizza every day lol)
- This semester I am going to find a job in Rexburg (wish me luck!) and not have any grades lower than a B+!
What are your resolutions?
